FACES

Faces is an interactive installation that captures your portrait and sketches it at large scale, projected onto a building across the street. It was installed for six months as part of San Francisco Art Commission's 'Lights on Market St' Project. During that six months Faces captured and displayed 30,000 portraits with an average of 160 portraits a day.

Faces aimed to show the variety and character of the people moving through Market St as well as providing an opportunity for members of the public to stop for a moment and interact with one another. Portraits rendered were visibile for many city blocks and once you portrait was up it would remain up until someone else had their portrait taken.

This project was made possible by San Francisco Arts Commission, Public Architecture, David Addington and Michael S Bernard.
